Case Study - Resolving Electrical Failures in X-Ray Generators
Application: Connector
Location: Canada
Challenge
Due to the high cost of machinery and downtime, protecting sensitive components in medical systems from failure is critical. A leader in X-ray technology approached us when their X-ray generators in the field began to experience electrical failures. Upon closer inspection, the connectors within the machine had been exposed to vibration from regular operation which in turn caused excessive fretting, pitting, and corrosive buildup. They were looking for a connector grease that would restore connectivity to X-ray generators in the field and prevent future failures in newly manufactured machines.
- Can we provide a lubricant that can protect against fretting and withstand arcing?
- Can our connector lubricant ensure solid, reliable connections in the field?
Solution
NYOGEL® 760G
A silica thickened, medium viscosity, synthetic hydrocarbon grease.
- Formulated to prevent fretting corrosion
- Compatible with most plastics and elastomers
- Copper passivator prevents copper corrosion
- Provides lifetime lubrication for lasting connections
Results
We recommended that the customer test NYOGEL® 760G, the industry leading connector grease, on one of their affected connectors. The customer was so satisfied with their results that they placed an order and then expedited the grease to their global field repair technicians in both the US and Europe.
