NyoGel®
NyoGel® products are translucent, silica-thickened greases. This product line features greases for electrical connectors, motion control applications and electrically conductive applications. Silica-thickened greases yield excellent heat resistance and oxidative stability as the thickener is non-melting.
Hydrophobic silica is ideal when used as a thickener for a grease that is required to prevent water ingress or to give a grease excellent water washout resistance. Silica is a very efficient thickener, meaning that a relatively small percentage (compared to other thickener types) is required for a grease to be formed when added to a base oil and more oil is available to lubricate the application.
NyoGel® Features and Benefits
- Extend component life
- Protect against friction and wear
- Wide-temperature performance
- Resist water and salt spray
- Low oil separation
A thin layer of connector grease can improve the reliability of connections, prevent fretting wear and corrosion, reduce insertion force, and extend the functional life of connectors. NyoGel® 760G is the industry standard grease for electrical connectors and is specified by leading OEMs across a wide range of industries. NyoGel®760G has good fretting corrosion protection, dielectric isolation capabilities, and is also compatible with common connector materials.
Product | Temperature Range | Viscosity (40°C) | Properties |
---|---|---|---|
NYOGEL 760G | -40 to 135 °C | 400 cSt | The industry-standard synthetic hydrocarbon grease intended for electrical contacts. |
NYOGEL 782D-G4 | -20 to 100 °C | 240 cSt | A stiff, polyglycol grease that will not carbonize under arcing conditions. |
Motion control greases enable precise speed and motion, provide a tactile feel, and reduce buzz, squeaks, and rattles. When applied to components like switches, hinges, and gears, these lubricants are an easy way to enhance the quality of mechanical designs.
Product | Temperature Range | Viscosity (40 °C) | Properties |
---|---|---|---|
NYOGEL 774 | -20 to 125 °C | Available in a variety of viscosities | A line of synthetic hydrocarbon lubricants with medium tack for improved adhesion at high speeds. Theses greases also resist mechanical displacement from plastic or metal surfaces. |
NYOGEL 744F-MS | -50 to 125 °C | 33 cSt | A soft, water resistant synthetic hydrocarbon grease intended for sliding surfaces and small gear train applications. |
If static discharge poses a hazard to your application a conductive lubricant should be considered. A conductive grease can be applied to instrument and bearing applications to allow static discharge to pass through the component instead of building up, leading to arcing, and causing pitting on the surface which accelerates wear. These conductive greases are not thickened with silica and are therefore not translucent.
Product | Temperature Range | Viscosity (40 °C) | Properties |
---|---|---|---|
NYOGEL 756G | -40 to 125 °C | 61 cSt | An electrically conductive grease containing carbon black, that utilizes a synthetic hydrocarbon base oil intended for instrument and bearing applications where conductivity is important |
NYOGEL 758G | -40 to 150 °C | 36 cSt | A stiff, lithium soap thickened synthetic ester grease containing carbon black, intended for demanding bearing applications that require advanced wear prevention. |
