Rheolube®
The Rheolube® product line generally consists of soap thickened synthetic hydrocarbon greases that were originally created for small machinery and instruments. All of the greases in the Rheolube® family are fortified with various additives to protect against oxidation, inhibit corrosion, support heavy loads, prevent wear, and extend component life.
Applications
The Rheolube® product line is suitable for a range of automotive and industrial components including:
- Bearings
- Sliding surfaces
- Gear trains
- Electrical Switches
- Actuators
Which Rheolube® product is right for you? Each series in the Rheolube family was designed with specific operating conditions in mind.
The 360 series is Nye’s workhorse, developed for many OEM component applications. Rheolube® 363F is often recommended to reduce low temperature torque within steering assemblies and other systems that require reduced noise, vibration, and harshness.
The 380 series was developed for power tools, automotive starters, and heavily loaded mechanical devices. It utilizes a soap thickened synthetic hydrocarbon/ester grease base that is fortified with various additives. Rheolube® 380 & 380-G1 were formulated to reduce friction and wear, extending the life of high-speed gear boxes.
The 716 series of lithium soap-thickened esters was developed for wide temperature instruments. Esters provide enhanced wear protection and lubricity for precision metal components. Rheolube® 716A is commonly used in electrical contacts and small precision bearing applications.
The Rheolube 2000 series was specifically developed for instruments and bearings in aerospace and vacuum applications. These greases consist of multiply alkylated cyclopentane base oils thickened with a sodium soap complex.
