Meet Nye: Marco Juarez
Marco Juarez joined Nye in 2018 to develop stronger relationships with and provide lubrication solutions to our customers in the Southwestern United States and Latin America. Marco comes to Nye with over 20 years of experience providing technical solutions to customers within the specialty chemicals industry. Marco holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and an M.S. in Economics.
What is your approach to building relationships with customers internationally?
Cultural awareness and passion to serve the customer has been my foundation for building long-term relationships and is key to gathering information about our customer’s needs. First and foremost, I demonstrate respect and appreciation for the culture of the people in the organization I am visiting. My goal is always to provide support at all different levels and departments within an organization and gather key insights that will allow us to provide the right service and solution. With efficient preparation, I can learn about our customers’ organizations, their markets, products and business environments, which allows me to speak our customers’ business and technical language. My objective is to make my customers feel that I take personal responsibility for their results, by building trust and rapport with each one.
How does Nye plan to continue to assist our automotive customers in Mexico?
As the Mexican Automotive Industry is facing extreme pressure to keep their costs down, most automotive suppliers are following the ‘Best Cost’ strategy. My goal is to support their supply chain departments to minimize their Total Cost of Ownership. Nye will increase communication with key stakeholders responsible for supply chain, production, quality and process engineering departments with two objectives: First, bring relevant customer insights to our Research and Development, Engineering and Automotive Team to proactively improve and develop new efficient solutions for our customers. Second, support our customers by providing them with real-time information about current projects and accurate, timely pricing information that will allow them to efficiently service their customers. These efforts will show our customers that we are a trusted partner to help develop their solutions.
How do you feel that your engineering background helps you solve customer problems?
My industrial engineering background helped me to develop the skillset to gather technical information from different manufacturing processes by asking the right questions. This technical background allows me to methodically think through problems, breaking them down systematically into manageable elements, and identify the best possible solution for our customer. To be effective in my current role, I rely significantly on the wisdom, knowledge, and experience of my peers on Nye’s R&D and Engineering teams.
What is your favorite part about working for Nye?
I love the diversity of projects we develop and the key markets that we service. When I graduated from college, I was always attracted to the automotive industry. Although I spent some years in the specialty chemical industry, I always kept in contact and followed the automotive industry. Now that I am visiting and servicing OEMs, specifically their Tier 1 and Tier 2 component suppliers in Mexico, I feel that I have achieved one of the most important goals in my professional career. I am grateful for the skills and experiences that I have acquired throughout my career in technical sales, but now I feel even more knowledgeable as I am learning from my very capable peers at Nye.
